What Is Collateral Coin Setting?
In cross-currency margin mode, your unified margin account (referred to as "the account") allows you to enable collateralization of specific crypto assets as margin. Collateralized coins are discounted based on their respective discount rates and converted into USD value, which contributes to the account’s effective margin. This margin supports:
- Spot trading
- Leverage, futures, and options trading (both isolated and unified margin modes)
All enabled collateral coins share trading risks and collectively provide margin for positions across the account. The collateral setting feature lets you customize which coins participate in risk-sharing, enhancing strategic flexibility.

Trading Scope After Disabling Collateral
- Disabled coins are excluded from the account’s effective margin.
- Unified margin: Only available for spot trading.
- Isolated margin: Usable for leverage, futures, perpetual contracts, and options.
- Risk isolation: Disabled coins no longer provide margin for unified positions, and their price fluctuations won’t affect the account’s overall risk.
Use this feature to isolate specific coin risks in your asset management strategy.
